Spotlight: Joseph

On a normal day, I couldn't get a decent picture of Joseph if you paid me. He deliberately ignores me, refuses to look at the camera, runs away, hides his face, turns his back, you name it. Yesterday he was hamming it up. Since all of my good pictures are usually of Noah, I decided to take advantage of Joseph being camera happy and write up a post about his afternoon, complete with pictures. :)

Egg-cellent Post!

I wanted to do a quick post to share some pictures of an egg recently laid by one of our chickens. We've now had chickens for one year. We first got our chicks last spring, and a year later, only have two left, but they're healthy, happy, and laying eggs for us every day again. Its been an adventure and a learning process, but its been fun. Joseph LOVES the chickens and can't wait to go out the chicken pen to help with chores. I plan on ordering more chickens (hopefully soon!) and have big plans brewing inside my head... I'll keep you all posted. For now, here's some photos :)

The cover won't close on the carton because the egg is too large!

Mother's Day Memories

This year on Mother's Day we did something extra special. My mom, my siblings, myself, and my boys went and visited my 92 year old Great Grandma Eunice for the day. It pains me to say we don't see her very much and we live less than 2 hours from her. She had met Joseph just once when he was much younger and had never met Noah before this day. I'm blessed to still have my Great Grandma in my life and my boys are even more blessed to have the chance to know their Great Great Grandma! Here are some photos of our special afternoon...

Noah Seven Months

My sweet little Noah is 7 months old today! At seven months he can crawl like no other, pull himself up to stand on everything (which gives his mama heart attacks) and fall some-what gracefully. He loves to be outside eating grass, leaves, twigs, etc. He also sometimes likes to eat rice cereal, applesauce, and cheerios (and will usually crawl around and pick up his big brother's scraps off the floor), but his favorite food is still mama's milk. He loves to play with Joseph and is constantly watching his every move. Joseph has really shown an interest in wanting/trying to play with his baby brother lately, but its a little rougher than I think Noah would like. It usually ends in tears with Noah smooshed under Joseph, or him being sat on, pushed or knocked over. I keep telling Joseph that he better be nice to him because pretty soon Noah's going to be as big as him and he's gonna be the one laying on the ground! When he's not busy chasing big brother or trying new foods he finds on the floor, he loves to sit and snuggle with mama. When he's tired he lays his head on my chest, when he's being shy, he nuzzles into my neck. He loves to dance and sing to music of any kind, laughing when you hold him up in the air. He laughs at funny sounds and faces, is super ticklish, and has a smile that's as bright as his big blue eyes. He's the sweetest little boy I know <3
